Here in the Okanogan over that last week I have seen two different
turkey vultures (one on the way to Twisp on Monday and one along
Highway 97 by Okanogan--yesterday) that were perched atop telephone
poles--standing with wings spread wide for several minutes-(they were
not taking off, not landing, not flapping,--they just appeared to be
sun bathing). Is this part of a mating display? Are they simply
warming their bones?

Just curious--
