I spent most of yesterday at the Semiahmoo Marina, IN THE RAIN, trying to
get some decent images of this gorgeous little sea duck. There were probably
20 or so of them there and they were reasonably cooperative. Fortunately I
had a plastic bag to put over my camera. I also saw a few surf and
white-winged scoters, red-breasted mergansers and common golden-eyes.
Several loons were present as well as a few horned grebes. As the tide went
out a large concentration of brant moved in along with human clam diggers.
