My name is Brendan Graham and I am a new graduate student (starting this
summer) at the University of Lethbridge studying under Dr. Theresa
Burg. As part of my own research and other projects ongoing in the lab,
we are going to be banding resident birds in Washington this summer.
We will primarily be in the Mt. Rainier area, although we have permits
to band in counties King, Pierce and Kittitas. The birds we will be
looking to capture are Gray Jays, Clark's Nutcrackers, Mountain and
Black-capped Chickadees, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers and Red-breasted
Sapsuckers. Since some of these species (especially the Woodpeckers)
can be tricky to catch, we are hoping that people with bird feeders in
their yards might be willing to let us set up mist-nets and try to
capture some birds. If any of you have some of these birds visiting
your yards or feeders and are interested in helping us could you please
e-mail me and I can tell you more about our intended research this summer.

Thanks
