I was working in my yard and found what looked like a ball of cotton?
Turned out, after much examination, to be a bunny tail... Trying to make
something good out of its loss of life, I stuck the tail in an empty suet
basket. Within a few hours a chestnut-back and a black cap were spotted
pulling like crazy at it. I've seen lots of hair in chickadee nests in my
boxes, perhaps from road kill. This year's broods will have soft bunny fur
to line their beds!
