At 1230 today, I observed a female Dicksissel, still in 1st winter plumage (is it late for that?), at the Fill. It was across from the main pond singing on a bramble about 12 inches above ground in front of 3 boulders. It soon dropped down in the short grass where I observed it for several minutes. I had wonderful looks until a passerby disturbed the bird. It flew into the willow behind the boulders and dropped back down in the taller grasses at which point I lost it.

I also had a savannah sparrow with a yellow wing patch-like marking. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this sparrow and/or could explain the yellow on he wing.

Happy birding.
