Subject: [Tweeters] Eurasian Collared Dove at the Fill on Saturday

This is a second-hand account ... I saw the photo and had the bird in
my bins but didn't get the field marks.

And no one has posted it yet so ....

Just after going to see the Cooper's Hawk perched in the cottonwoods
(?) I was called over by the same "Leica Guy" from the Coopers
(sorry, I should have asked your name!). I jogged up the loop in time
to meet a small cluster of (regular ... I recognized some faces)
birders looking at a mid-sized bird on a tree top just over Whakikum
Lane. After getting the bins on it it took off before I could get an ID.

But a photo showed clearly it was a Eurasian Collared Dove (very nice
shot!).

So not one I can count but "watch the skies" for something going
"HooHooooHo, HooHooooHo". It may still be around the Fill or in North
Seattle. This one headed north away from the Fill.

And no, this one didn't vocalize, but I'm a Brit. These are the sound
of summer in the UK (since the 1950s when they arrived for the first
time). And a sound you'll hear on many British TV shows.
