The American Plums (northwest native) are in full bloom in my backyard and just buzzing with bees of many kinds. Was greatly surprised to discover a California Tortoiseshell butterfly among them. I thought they were a higher elevation butterfly.

On a bird note - the Ospreys have returned to Two Rivers County Park, improved last year's nest and appear to already be incubating.

On a mammal note - within the past two weeks I've added two new mammals to the park's species list - Red Fox & Yellow-bellied Marmot.
