Hi everyone,

I realize that Greater Yellowlegs aren't exactly unusual, but I thought I would point out a spot that's worth checking out for them (and potentially other shorebirds) if you're in the Fall City area.? There aren't any real hotspots (that I know about, anyway) in that area so getting to see any shorebirds?moving through in migration is a treat.?

A couple of miles west of Fall City on Highway 202 (Fall City/Redmond Road) there is a relatively new and large horse ranch that is right next to the Aldarra little league ball field right on the highway.??I apologize for not remembering?the street name/number, but it's pretty tough to miss the ball field and the ranch.? They are on the north side of the road.? The pastures closest to the ballfield often have some standing water this time of year and in the last several years in spring they are fairly reliable for a Greater Yellowlegs or two.? Plus, some Green-winged Teal and other puddle ducks noodling around in the shallows.? I haven't yet seen any other shorebirds, but the fields would seem conducive to that, so it's worth a quick check when in the area.
