Now I'm wondering if what I thought was a Red-shouldered (imm.) I saw over the Carty Unit on Monday was in fact the Broad-winged Hawk (ad.) Bob Flores saw today. (I think it was.) The thought crossed my mind, but it seemed so far out of range . . .

Fifteen mins ago I had an adult broad-winged hawk circling over Hillhurst Road about 1/4 mile north of the Ridgefield NWR entrance. it was not very high and may be using the thermals to get higher. Keep your eyes peeled!
