Hello Everyone.

Our peacock finally wandered off (we hear there is a breeder down the road and assume that's where he's gone) (a bit sad for a while, we miss our Hermes)

Anywho...our hummers have come back full force since St. Patty's day ritual of filling the feeders (ours leave during winter so I don't keep any food in them)

Recently took a trip to Eastern Wa where my Grandmother has a farm. She has a large brush pile out front and it's what many critters are currently calling home...some of those critters are quail.

Every morning we'd watch those cuties wander around, sometimes trailing their young behind, sometimes adults only, but they sure were funny to watch. I said to my husband that I wished we had quail here, (and he said he'd like to have magpies which we both love to watch).

Yesterday afternoon my wish was granted...my cat was cackling at the birdfeeder out back like she does with the stellars, and that's what I expected to see, but to my surprise it was two quail! Cute as can be.

How fun is that? Last year we had the bandtailed pidgeons, and now we've got some quail! (a peacock inbetween!)

Happy watching, All!

Shoni
