22 April 10 a.m. Pioneer Trails RV Resort - Anacortes
1 male Goshawk circling slowly, over and over again. This male had no
terminal band. Weather- cold and breezy- bright sun. Insights- there are 2 male
Goshawks and at least 1 female Gos hunting in this area. The other male
hawk had a thick, white terminal band; with an asymmetrical V- notch. ALSO 12
noon- 1 female Gos soaring high over the park. This hawk is unique because
of loose, buoyant, deep wing beats. The bird appears very lanky.
Observation time- 5 minutes. Windy. Again a male hunting over the tall tree tops.
