Good morning Tweets,
For three days now I have had several Golden-crowned Sparrows in my yard, a high of four yesterday, two this morning. I also had an interesting sparrow yesterday and this morning which I believe to be a Savannah Sparrow, but the whole head, from bill to the back of the supercilium is distinctly yellow or as in painted with a yellow wash. I also cannot see any reddish-brown to brown patch on the wings (I'm referring to Sibley's portrayal) but that may be due to poor lighting yesterday and today. If anyone has any comments on this bird I would welcome them. My records show this is my second Savannah Sparrow in my yard, the last one was on 5-15-06, unfortunately I don't have any notes on its appearance.
