Hi Tweets....to those of you coming out for the last day of the Grays Harbor
Shorebird Festival, the shorebirds are in, and numbers are good. The trip
leader's reports are posted at Hoquiam High School as they return from their
field trips.

The female Tufted Duck continues to hang around the sewage treatment pond
across from the GHNWR headquarters, but can be out and about in surrounding
areas with her adopted companions...the Ring-necked Ducks.

For those birding along the Ocean Shores/Westport coast....the clamming
continues in the mornings through Monday...and I can attest it IS crowded
out here in Ocean Shores! That may force the shorebirds to other spots
around the harbor, such as the refuge! If you can't make it out here for the
festival, or this weekend, try this week. It's worth the trip...and the sun
is shining this morning and will be most of this week (so I hear). Fog
follows the river, so it may be foggy along the Chehalis at times.
