Hello Tweeters -

Went to Ocean Shores this weekend for our traditional burning of the shred pile, walk the dog on the beach and see what kind of birds I can spot & photograph for our anniversary trip.

Amongst the Red-wing blackbirds, Robins and Savannah Sparrows, I saw one Male Mallard and 5 med sized ducklings on the way through the dunes to the beach.

All up and down the beach Saturday, there were little flocks of mixed Dunlins, Plovers and Sanderlings and one HUGE flock of napping Short-billed Dowitchers that eventually woke from their nap and became mixed with all the rest.

I've posted a 7 new pictures in my Ocean Shores set, and marked them with Saturday's date. I will probably post a few more later tonight/first thing in morning. There are other sightings from years past inlcuded in that set as well...enjoy!

My neighbor told me that as of yesterday, he has not seen any of the Killdeer around - none of the adults orthe youngsters...I went to look, but tide way high and there had been a ton of people and animals all over our beach this weekend. I'l keep my fingers crossed and hope I see them in the am. :(

Happy Birding,
