A moment of complete serendipity in Okanogan County. As we left a
meeting up on the Omak flats this evening, my daughter pointed and said
"look Mom--those are the birds I was asking you about last summer!" I
looked to where she was pointing and three Long Billed Curlews flew by
less than 20 feet away. (I've been trying to spot a curlew since last
summer when she described a bird that I had just driven past.) I got a
good look and I got to hear them call/cry--it was a perfectly uplifting
end to a very long Monday.
