I stopped on my way to work this morning and spotted three Whimbrels in the fields just north of Smith Dairy. They

were foraging quietly and would be easy to miss if they weren't close to the road.



FYI, West Valley Hwy (not the "Valley Freeway", which is Hwy 167) is very busy and there aren't many pullouts

north of S. 277th Street. There are 1-2 about 100 yards north of 277th, but please use them very carefully as I

would hate to see someone involved in a serious accident while looking for a bird I reported.
