Jim Danzenbaker and I checked Rest Lake, Ridgefield NWR first thing this morning. The birds were jumpy and moved around. This was especially true for the peeps and our numbers for them are a good estimate and probably short. Also we had a red-shouldered hawk calling west of Rest Lake. Here is what we had.

we also noted 13 great egrets and a few bank swallows.
