Subject: [Tweeters] New pied-billed grebe eggs at Green Lake, Seattle

I was delighted this morning to witness a changing of the guard at the
pied-billed grebe nest at Green Lake in Seattle, and even more to see that
the adults are working on their second brood. There were three eggs visible
-- but only after the just-returned adult rearranged some of the rotting
vegetation; the eggs were completely hidden (at least to my eyes)
beforehand. (Photo at flickr.com/photos/trileigh.)

(I didn't see or hear the one remaining chick audible at my last visit on
July 21.)

Good birding to all,
Trileigh
