I have an opportunity to go to Sydney, Australia this October.? I'm an information junky and normally do a lot of research before a trip.? However, I need to make a decision quickly so don't have much time.?

I would appreciate any help on identifying places to go near Sydney (I'll be there at least a week) and any where else I shouldn't miss while there.

Any similar information on New Zealand would also be appreciated.?

I would have about three weeks total, though this is a little flexible, but the week in Sydney MAY be near the middle of the trip which would be a significant constraint.? I'm hoping to schedule the trip to keep the week in Sydney at one end.

Also, the Sydney dates are roughly Oct. 10-18.? If I can manage the flexibility, should I go earlier or stay later.
