Sherry and I hiked the Skyline Trail last Tuesday. On our way back down, we took the Lower Skyline Trail and went to the large rock just east of Panoramic Point. We arrived about 1:00pm, and in the wet area, we found mama Ptarmigan and her 3 chicks. This is the usual spot where the Ptarmigan have been seen annually, and the same family that has been seen for the last couple of weeks. We also had Gray-crowned Rosy Finches with young on the Upper Skyline Trail.
