After a long period of looking this nemesis bird is finally behind me! Those who know how hard it has been will probably want to bird with me again on the tall mountains! One hour after I left my car I found three ptarmigan at the UPPER intersection of Dead Horse and Skyline Trails at 0830 this morning. This is 1.6 km from Paradise. The birds were about 10 yards off the trail. Weather was poor with fog and drizzle off and on.

Now that I have clipped this one I must fall back on white-faced storm-petrel in North Carolina or red-throated becard in Arizona as my new nemesis bird!
