Hi Tweets,

I am always amazed when I visit the Fill, and that is quite often. I seem to see something new or very interesting almost every time. This morning not one, not two, but three American Bitterns flew over the Central Pond heading east. The first Bitterns I have seen at the Fill. Also the Pied-billed Grebe, located just north of the big cotton wood grove has at least two new hatchlings. In addition the young adult Grebes on the southwest pond are trying out their wings and showing off their feet. The Spotted Sandpipers and their Least Sandpiper cousins are are still there. A Dowitcher also made an appearance this morning. I think this one may be a Short-billed Dowitcher. Any Dowitcher experts out there?
