Hey Tweets!
I birded Mason County on Sunday Aug 9, and saw a few good birds at the Thelar Wetlands.
NASHVILLE WARBLER, YELLOW WARBLER, WILLOW FLYCATCHER (several still calling!), PACIFC SLOPE FLYCATHER in the trees at the center.
Fledgling BARN SWALLOW and a single PURPLE MARTIN on the farthest boardwalk.
Along the creek, during a falling tide, saw BONAPARTE'S GULL, the WHIMBREL reported earlier, and many WESTERN and LEAST SANDPIPERs, and a SPOTTED SANDPIPER. And PURPLE FINCH, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH, and RED CROSSBILL in the shrubs along the trail at the creek. The Crossbills were eating berries right along the trail!
Was a nice stop!
