Hi Tweeters,

Since I haven't seen anyone share on Sunday's pelagic trip out of Westport, I'll give a quick recap of highlights. Great weather, warm, some clouds and broken sunshine, turning to mostly sunny by arrival back to Westport. Some of the species seen were:

Black-footed Albatross
Laysan Albatross (1)
Northern Fulmar
Sooty Shearwater
Pink-footed Shearwater
Flesh-footed Shearwater (1)
Short-tailed Shearwater (1)
Buller's Shearwater (couple)
Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel (only a couple)
Red-necked Phalarope
Red Phalarope (couple)
Pomarine, Parasitic and Long-tailed Jeagers
South Polar Skua (good numbers, maybe 10)
Sabine's Gull
Cassin's Auklet (hundreds)
Tufted Puffin (couple)

Absent on this trip were Leach's Storm Petrel and Arctic Tern. It was fun to also see Sun Fish, Blue Shark, Northern Fur Seal, Humpback Whales, Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Dall's Porpoise, Harbor Porpoise and Northern Right-Whale Dolphin.

Arriving back to port, both Turnstones, Surfbird and Tattler, all 3 Cormorants were present.

The over-summering Glaucous Gull was still present on the wood pilings withing the docks.
