I've NEVER had a problem with the Swarovski 80Hd coming loose from
Bogen-Manfrotto tripod head. One should ALWAYS check one's equipment
whenever going afield to ensure that it is functioning properly. I
leave my scope on the tripod ALL the time, and check it EVERY time I
use it. The KEY is to use the "key" that locks the mount, and CHECK
it every so often while in the field. ALSO, make sure you have some
kind of "tether" to keep the scope from bouncing to the ground SHOULD
something fail. AND, hold tight to the tripod while carrying the
