Hello fellow tweeters,
This afternoon I had an hour to kill, and what better way to kill time than birding?
I stopped at the fill to see if I could find some of the birds Connie has been telling us about.
Just as I was setting out I met Larry and Patty from Spokane. They have never been to the fill so I offered to show them around, although I'm no authority on the fill, at least I had more experience there than they did. We didn't see anything rare but I was pleasantly surprised to see a mourning dove, Patty was surprised that I thought it noteworthy since they have them at their feeders regularly. At the main pond we got very close looks at a long billed dowitcher and on the far shore were more peeps, one of which was a greater yellowlegs. The other sighting of note was a very short look at a green heron.
The pleasant company and a few good birds made it a very enjoyable hour.
