Just before 10:30 am while sitting on a rock at the north end of the Central Pond Crows started to make a ruckus just north of the two dead willows. It went on for quite sometime and I finally removed myself from the rock thinking there was some sort of raptor in the bushes. I turned around and there were at least 4 other birders looking to see what was causing the disturbance also. A couple of them went to investigate and all of a sudden a beautiful Barn Owl flew out of the bushes with Crows trailing. It headed east toward the CUH building and entered the large alder grove. I went to see if I could relocate it and ran into another birder doing the same. We were unable to find it again. My first Barn Owl at the Fill. Quite exciting!! I was unable to get photos but I heard that there was another photographer there who possibly got some good shots. If you see this could you post them or send me a copy and I will. Thanks
