Subject: [Tweeters] very late turkey vulture report

Diann,

I apologize for making a belated Turkey Vulture report. The early morning of July 19 found Tina and I near the confluence of the Deep River and the Columbia River in western Wahkiakum County. The trees on the banks of Deep River were filled with Turkey Vultures. Tina counted 8 in a single tree. We noted 34 TUVU perched along the Deep in a stretch only about 1.5 miles long. We surmised that they were heading south and waiting for the day to warm up and the thermals to carry them across the Columbia.
