Hi Jeff,

I am thrilled you a successful trip down there!! I think the area is getting more coverage from the local birders and others visiting from other states. It has potential for other birds besides woodpeckers. Also, with the recent success from the woodpecker festival, it should draw more public attention. The area is also scenic and beautiful.

A HUMONGOUS thanks to ECBC for creating a wonderful, resourceful website. Also, they have been a great catalyst for bird conservation in that area. I believe they were quite successful with increasing the population of Lewis's Woodpeckers in that area by implementing modified nest boxes.

For two years, I conducted a successful hawk migration survey for them and found the members to be a CLASSY bunch of individuals; gifted birders with great hearts in helping out all birders of any level or interest.

Good birding,

Khanh Tran (Portland, Oregon)
