Greetings all,Here is a link to some photographs (I'm still in the process of editing quite a few so haven't gotten them all up) of photographs from a trip taken last weekend to Harts Pass with Tracey Norris and Charlie Wright. If you didn't see the post on tweeters alerts, I cut and pasteCharlie's report to the bottom.Click on the recent tab on the right for them all.http://www.flickr.com/photos/shyalbatross/

Ryan Shaw, Tracey Norris and I just got back to our computers. On Sunday Ryan and I found a male White-tailed Ptarmigan on the upper slopes of Slate Peak, visible at a distance from the West Fork Pasayten Trail. We managed to approach it and get very good photos. It appeared to run across the county line, as close as I can determine.

WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were common in the Harts Pass area, with several encounters of up to 25 birds at a time. Also during the weekend, there were a few lowland birds that showed up in the campground near the Forest Service Guard Station. Best were a WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH in Whatcom County and a LONG-EARED OWL calling during the night. An AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER passed through on Sunday, and a family group of PINE GROSBEAKS spent their time west of the guard station.

Cheers,
Charlie Wright
