I live in Mill Creek, Snohomish County, for the last two summers there have been Osprey
hanging around my neighborhood near Cherry Pond. Both years they appear to have been raising young.
(appears to be only one)

I have looked and looked for the nest, thinking that they were pretty far away from a river or lake. Well, to my surprise
I found the nest about 5 days ago and yesterday confirmed that the Osprey are using this nest. It is on top of a cell tower IN Mill Creek Community Association next to the golf course.

Is it unusual for Osprey to nest this far from a river or big lake? (Cherry Pond does have fish but I doubt that it could feed a family for a whole season) Or is it possible that their hunting area covers Silver Lake, Martha Lake and much smaller Thomas Lake?

Photos of the nest are on my Flickr account. (I did not have a chance to photograph the Osprey before he took off.)
