Hello,

I had a nice morning in Spokane County. At the Peone Wetland, there were some notable shorebirds: Killdeer, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Western, Baird's, and Pectoral Sandpipers. The problem with the wetland right now is that viewing is very difficult with the weeds being so high.

Last Saturday night, I found a Barred Owl that has continued to be seen this week by local residents around dusk near mm4 along Mt Spokane Rd. Great Horned Owls are common in this area as well.

Also, there were some nice birds - moslty migrants - along Holcomb Rd. Cassin's Vireo, Cassin's Finch, lots of Red Crossbills, a few Western Bluebirds, Catbirds, Wilson's Warblers. The best birds were about 60 Evening Grosbeaks, mostly right along Deadman's Creek.
