This past summer Point Wilson has been slow with not much activity and not near as much forage fish in the area as has been the case in the last three years. While looking over my images of the past few days I see that a single Ancient Murrelet flew by and landed in the waters to the noetheast of my observation spot. This is the earliest I have ever seen an ancient at Point Wilson. Most years the ancients don't arrive in numbers until about 12-29.
Also a rare bird flew over Admiralty Inlet that same day it was a F7F Tigercat one of only 6 still airworthy in the world quite a sight. My father flew them in the early to mid 50's for the USMC
