Whew, what a relief! This morning I stopped by the Green Lake pied-billed
grebe nest and was delighted to see two hatchlings clambering around on
their parent. When the parent got up briefly (giving the babies a
roller-coaster ride in the process), I could see the remaining eggs but
could not make out whether any others had begun to hatch. A cute baby
