Heya Tweets!

My mother and I had success at Discovery Park Monday evening, sunset + high
tide = a good collection of birds. First, just NW of the lighthouse was a
pair of Surfbirds sitting on a rock. Second, in the water at the base of the
clay cliffs to the south, there was a large collection gulls, including
Heerman's Gulls; and Caspian Terns. Then far out in Elliott Bay, south of
the beach, we saw a loon, our first of the fall. It seemed like a
Red-throated Loon, but was a bit far out for us to be sure. Finally, we saw
Osprey perched above both the N and S beaches. Ira Zuckerman, Seattle, WA
