Hi Tweeters,

I could tell when my message regarding the new Thomas Ponds was so different from Carol Schultz this weekend that the sandpipers are definitely moving a lot. Tonight I saw absolutely zero yellowlegs and zero Semi-palmated Sandpipers but did see:

Pectoral Sandpiper, 1
with Least Sandpiper, 3
and Killdeer, 1
Western Sandpiper 10
Long-billed Dowitcher 4 (still there)

A Peregrine Falcon has discovered the food source and was actively feeding on a kill on one of the big power towers. Beautiful bird. The sandpipers were relatively calm letting me enjoy thm. Except for the Pectoral, it was heavily feeding. It was hard to watch because it was so busy drilling for morsels, its head was a blur at times.

I don't know what happened to my signature line, hmmm. Look for Carol's post this weekend for the best directions. Crossroads are 277th and Frontage Rd.
