Well..., I have to say that Charlie Wright's posting on this subject was
one of the finest and best crafted contributions I recall seeing in the
Tweeter's forum in a very long time. Having just read in the most recent issue
of "Birding", "The Pyle Guide Part II ... Serious Fun for Serious (Often
Young) Birders" (vol.41, no.4, July2009, pp46-55), Charlie's posting put
what amounts to the bigger picture in much crisper perspective. Key words in
the "Birding" forum title are, "Often Young", of which Charlie Wright is in
good company. This is an impressive read and goads us older types to
maybe take a more serious look at and acknowledge that which lies 'outside to
box' and be grateful for the young up and coming birders, many of whom
already exceed their years in enthusiasm and knowledge, who are out there to
carry the torch on to the next level.
