?Can someone help me here, is it just me... or ?
So?I been feeding Hummingbirds for 20 plus years and I have NEVER had to heat, boil, microwave, etc, ?water to have sugar desolve in it quickly. I just mix 1part pure cane sugar with 3 parts COLD water and STIR for about 15-30 seconds at most. And it's DONE! Desolved! And never had it not desolve.
So if you are heating / boiling water?just to?desolve sugar,?why?? Are you using glued sugar cubes? Or sugar that has been turned to concrete from being too old?
Personally, I had always thought the recommendation?of boiling water was to?sterilize it. But as someone else mentioned here, ?if the tap water is safe for us humans it should hold no harm for birds.?
Sometimes I think birders have a tendency to "personify"?birds too much... but that's just my opinion. And my pet peeve... :-)
