I think posting here brings me good luck! I had just returned from the Fill,
which was very dead, and decided to sit out by my bird bath. Actually I had
seen a brown creeper out there and thought I might get some more pictures of
it. After about 30 minutes a bird arrived that was slightly larger than the
usual juncos and sparrows. As I trained my lens on it I was shocked to see
that it was a female red crossbill! I snapped off a few quick images before
it flew down to my bird bath. After a quick bath it took off. I tried using
my ipod to see if I might entice some more into view but there was no
response.

Now I need pictures of the male.
