Subject: [Tweeters] Greater Shearwater seen off Westport Seabirds Pelagic

Greetings all,



I just got home, so haven't gone through all the data/photos yet from today's Westport Seabird Pelagic, but the highlight was definitely a Greater Shearwater first spotted by Bill Tweit coming up the stern of the boat heading for a Shrimp net-dragger. We relocated the bird in amongs several thousand tubenoses, mostly Northern Fulmar and Pink-footed Shearwaters. We lost sight of it then made our way to Grays Canyon. Several hours later on the return trip we relocated the same shrimper, the "Swell Rider" and relocated the Greater Shearwater in amongst a much reduced flock of tubenoses.
