Tina Blade and I set out late this morning to see if any Franklin's
Gulls were still at Juanita Beach Park. We looked first around the
picnic shelter, then on the sand spit west of the volleyball area
(north of the swimming area). A bit disappointed, we walked back to
the car, only to find a juvenile Franklin's enjoying the warm asphalt
of the parking lot. After numerous photos and many cars driving by,
the gull decided he'd be happier by the water, and flew over to the
sand beach, where he alternately rested and scouted for bits of what
he considered "food."
