since it's sunday, i will take it easy on you and give you a "relatively easy" mystery bird to identify -- can you name the species?

the most recently demystified mystery bird was a Ross's Goose, Chen rossii. this photograph generated some interesting commentary since it was not possible to ID the bird from the original image that i provided (as i suspected, but i was testing the limits of what we can know from limited data). i later added a second image that provided just a wee bit more of a look at the bird, but that was enough to make this ID a snap. read for yourself;
