Seeing Bob's post about an update on the Black-tailed Gull makes me dearly miss the BirdBox. With the advent of lots of mobile devices these days, I still think there is room for a very valuable tool like the BirdBox. There is nothing like being able to call into an informational hotline while out in the field to see what has been seen and what is still out there to find.

I personally have done searches on the web and am having a difficult time finding software or hardware that would function as a birding hotline. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I will use this hot Spokane day to do some more searching on my own as well.

I have thought about operating a new birding hotline myself, but since I have no idea how much it would take to do this I am still just dreaming about it right now.
