Checking my email got me quite excited yesterday to hear about the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper on Ediz Hook, being the perfect birding foray for me with a torn achilles. I went twice yesterday and once this morning to no avail. Last night I did have 18 Black-bellied Plovers in a variety of plumages which was nice.
Today, on the 2nd log boom, (east from the paper plant) I had approximately:
520 California Gulls (3% first year)
410 Heerman's Gulls
7 Harlequin females
30 Glaucous-winged Gulls.

Also, this morning I had my second Green Heron fly over the yard, nice enough to vocalize as it did so, so I could hear it and see it in time.
Good Birding,
