Hi all,
When I began birding in earnest in 1993 these great field notebooks were available. They were brown, and bound, and very durable. They ceased being available sometime around 1995, and ever since I have been unhappy with anything that I've been able to find, so I started making my own. I made my first notebooks about five years ago, and have since refined the process, and am now ready to offer them for sale as well as other birding related gear. I am very interested in ideas and feed back from you birders to know what gear you would like to see made, and my scale of operation allows me to create custom gear, as well as modify products that people already have.
My notebooks will be available for purchase on December 10th, but if you're interested you can contact me personally and I'll note your order for production.
The notebooks are made from 100% recycled paper, re-used paper board, and reclaimed material. There is use of an adhesive, but I believe the scale and use of other "appropriate" materials makes the overall product the best available with the lowest environmental impact. Rather than impregnating paper with chemicals to withstand rain, I am offering a nylon weather "shield" which fits over the notebook for use during inclement weather.

I am also offering limited prints of some of my photography which bird and nature lovers might be interested in.

Sorry for the commercially based email, but I truly believe that people will find these notebooks superior to any available, unless writing "in the rain" is of paramount importance. Thanks, and good birding,
