At least three bald eagles?(one adult + 2 or 3 juvies) put?on quite a display today at Sunset Ave. this morning in Edmonds around 10:30-11:30.?? I got photos of one of the juvies diving for a fish just north of the jetty at the underwater dive park.? I had?never before seen an eagle dive for a fish.? It went into the water just like an osprey and for moment I could only see its wings above the surface.? It got airborne again with a fish in its right talons and flew into one of?the tall fir trees at the end of Sunset Ave.?to eat it.

The juvie flew off and two more juvies perched in?an adjoining tall fir.?I'll have to study my photos to see if one of them was the same bird which had caught the fish.?? They remained a few minutes then took off north together, soaring doing broad circles over Puget Sound. ?

After the juvies departed, an adult swooped in and perched on another of the tall fir trees.? It did not stay too long before leaving.? A mated pair lives in?tall fir trees above a pond a little ways north of Sunset Ave.?? The trees can?be seen when walking the beach at low tide.???I wonder if?these eagles?are all?members of that family.
