Subject: [Tweeters] Anna's Hummingbird winter nectar sources

This past Saturday I saw Anna's Hummingbirds feeding on fuchsia and strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo) flowers, both of which are non-native. There's more blooming out there this time of year than you might think. They also feed at sapsucker sap wells, and I've seen them do that in the last few weeks here on Beacon Hill as well.

I do think that our feeders are an important part of their food supply during these periods of unusual cold, however.
