I saw a flock of?about 30 crows ?doing the same thing on the frozen portions of the Edmonds marsh.?? At the time the marsh was devoid of the resident herons, seagulls, and migratory ducks.?? I took a lot of photos of the crows walking on the ice and a?few of?them bathing in the open stretches of water.??? I have never seen crows in the marsh?when it?is not frozen.???

My theory is that the freezing?of local bodies of water has temporarily changed the habits of the birds.?? Another example is the killdeers I have seen foraging?on a?lawn on Sunset Ave. and in a field on Point Edwards
