Our local crows regularly chase?eagles and hawks.??If they spot one in a tree, they will strafe it.? I?use the crows as an early warning sysyem to alert me to the presence of a raptor when I am out photographing.? Several times the crows have warned me of an incoming raptor or pointed out a raptor perched in a tree which?was too distant to be seen with my naked eye.

I also saw a crow chase away one of the killdeer that I previously mentioned?was?foraging in a yard on Sunset Ave.? I think the crows' behavior that?I have seen is strictly protective?& territorial and not predatory in the sense of looking to kill for a meal.

In albuquerque we watched along time as the crows pursued and seemed to be trying to catch the pigeons (rock doves)

It's sure looked pradatory - I don't know if any were caught - we were about 3 blocks away.

Have you ever seen anything like that?
