Hi everyone,
I took a run down to the area where the Clark's Nutcracker was seen near Carnation.? I spent about half an hour around 10:00 looking for it without success.? This area is heavily wooded and relatively lightly populated, so it could easily still be around and just not able to be found when I was there.? There were 5 to 7 Steller's Jays holding up their end of the Corvid family while I was looking around, however.? In addition to looking around the NE 24th and 344th intersection, I drove slowly up the road to the Langlois Lake access road (which is currently closed) with the windows open listening and looking, and also did the same on the way back to Hwy 203.? Hopefully someone else will find the bird during this Saturday's CBC and it will still be chasable.
